It was the salty beginning to an otherwise sweet career. Few outside Milwaukee (and we'd recommend not asking anyone in Milwaukee!) know that 500 Home Run Club member Gary Sheffield got his start with the Brewers, where he butted heads with management before being traded to San Diego in 1990. This 31-ounce, 34-inch Cooper bat was used by then-Brewer Gary Sheffield during his tumultuous time in Miltown.
The bat has the model number 100 imprinted on the barrel. Sheffield's name also appears on the barrel in script lettering. The flame treated ash instrument matches Sheff's known factory records. The bat shows no signs of game us, but Gary's Brewers number 11 has been written on the bat's knob in black marker.
Grade MEARS A5: 5 points for matching known player factory records.
