Though much better known as the World Series-winning manager, Cito Gaston was also an All-Star outfielder in the 1970s. During his playing days, Gaston put this 32-ounce, 35 1/2-inch Adirondak bat to use. The bat has the model number 154A imprinted on the knob. Gaston's block letter first and last name appears on the barrel.
The ash stick matches Gaston's known factory records. It exhibits heavy use in the form of heavy ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, light handle preparation and a 14-inch handle crack (with attempted repairs). Gaston's Braves number 43 has been written on the knob in black marker.
Grade A8: 5 points for matching player factory records, 3 points for heavy use, 1 point for documented uniform number on knob and a 1 point deduction for handle crack.
