On November 22, 1965, Cassius Clay and Floyd Patterson converged in Las Vegas. These six pictures show the two heavyweights squaring off. Images range between 6.5" x 7" in size and 6.5" x 8.5" in size. Reverse includes: date stamps, affixed cutlines, date stamps, written notations and a St. Petersburg Times hologram.
The St. Petersburg Times traces its origin to the West Hillsborough Times, a weekly newspaper started in Duedin, Florida in 1884. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
