A signature model 34”-33 oz game bat that shows significant game use including deep ball marks, a 10” crack, and 3 nails in the barrel. There is a tape ring missing and a 28 in black marker on knob. Kirby was the Braves in 1943 but his number was not 28 so the number places this in the minor leagues (we have no way of checking uniform number in minors), He played for Memphis of the Southern League and for Greenville (Joe Jackson’s old team) for the Cotton States as well as Indianapolis, Canton, and others. His major league stints include the White Sox in 1945 and the Braves. Probably of more interest to the minor league collectors who specialize in the southern teams. First we have ever seen or heard of. Grades an A7.5.
