Offered is a 34.5”-33 oz. Joe Morgan S44 signature model bat that dates to Morgan’s early years . According to H&B records, he was first shipped these model bats on 5-4-65 and many times through out the era of this bat. It shows heavy use with swelling of the hitting surfaces, cleat marks, and a 2” handle crack. There is some dead wood on back of the barrel (-.5) with some minor finish loss (-.5) and the stamps are nice and deep. Use is espcially concentrated above the barrel stamp. Morgan was with Houston (Colt 45’s and Astros) from 1963-71 before moving to the Reds from 1972-79. A nice early game bat of a popular Hall of Famer, third in all time walks behind Ruth and Williams and winning consecutive MVP awards in 1975-76.
