In 1976, Bill Madlock was in his third seasons with the Cubs, he lead the league in batting average in 1975-76 (edging out Ken Griffey in '76) and was the first player in major league history to win a pair of batting titles with two different teams. Bill replaced Ron Santo at third base for the Cubs and hit .313, the highest average of a Cubs third baseman since 1945.  From 1971 through 1989, Madlock has been the only right handed hitter to lead the NL in batting average.

This is a model M110, 35”-32oz. signature model that shows heavy game use, deep stitch marks, 11” of white handle tape, un-cracked, and grades an A7 having lost one point for some printing on knob “Cardenas” of which the meaning is not known to us and no such player exists with that name.

Grade: A7
