A solid player in Major League Baseball with a 13-year career from 1953 to 1965. He played for the New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers of the American League and the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros of the National League. He primarily played catcher, and logged many hours at first base as well. As an Oriole, Triandos held the then-record for home runs by an American League catcher, at 30.
This is unusual in that this Trisandos bat is 33 inches and weighs 32 oz, a length never ordered in Triandos' personal records. In addition, there is an obscure uniform number that looks like a 26, a number he wore with the Yankees in 1953-54 but there is no special mention of his bats in the team records from that era. Undoubtedly, this bat was ordered by a team for use by any member of the team as simply an index order. The bat is a signature model that is 33 inches, 32.1 oz and shows tremendous game use with deeply embedded lace marks. Cleat marks, and rack marks. Personal factory records show no model M110s having been sent to Triandos until 1958. This presents a TOUGH bat for those putting together a collection of players from the original TV Series Home Run Derby. A nice affordable example of a fairly scarce bat.
Grade: A7.5 due to because of marks on the knob.
