Offered is a professional model R161 Nolan Ryan Louisville Slugger dating to circa his 1985 season with the Houston Astros. Bat currently measures 34", weighs 31 ounces and shows heavy use with ball marks, stitch marks, bat rack marks, pine tar & Ryan's uniform number 34 written on the knob. Nolan has also signed the barrel twice in black marker along with a pair of inscriptions reading "Houston Astros" & "7 No Hitters K-King 5,714 HOF 99". Although this bat does not show up in the H&B records for Ryan, it is known that special orders were often not recorded and this order was mostly personally handled by long time employee Rex Bradley who served as a direct conduit to high profile players. The model, R161 was never ordered as a promotional bat. This coupled with the "34" on knob, MEARS is confident this was issued and used by Ryan during his tenure with the Astros. MEARS A10. (35K0036)
