Offered is a Voit Signature model football which has been signed by over forty five members of the 1966 Super Bowl Champions Green Bay Packers including Vince Lombardi, Dave Hanner, Phil Bengtson, Red Cochran, Bob Long, Fuzzy Thurston, Doug Hart, Ray Nitschke, Willie Wood, Willie Davis, Marv Fleming, Henry Jordan, Dave Robinson, Jerry Kramer, Jim Taylor, Forrest Gregg, Elijah Pitts, Don Anderson, Bob Jeter, Carroll Dale, Boyd Dowler, Herb Adderley, Lee Roy Caffey & more. Piece of athletic tape with "Gregg" handwritten applied over laces.
Originally owned by Top 100 NFL player of all time and Lombardi’s favorite player to coach, Forrest Gregg who was a star member of the Super Bowl 1 team. Very dark, high quality signatures. Advanced collectors are aware that personal player balls were identified near the strings with athletic tape. Arguably one of the most significant Super Bowl I team signed footballs to hit a major auction. (NOTE: we were recently contacted by the Gregg family and they asked us to clarify that this football was not recently a part of the Forrest Gregg estate. It is our belief that the athletic tape was applied as was the common practice in 1966 and at some latter date, possibly immediately upon receipt, gifted to an unknown fan. We are confident that ball was owned and issued to Gregg, but to honor the request of the family, want to clarify it wasn't recently owned or offered by the Gregg estate. ) (34J0237)
