This piece harkens back to the days when players and their equipment traveled by locomotive. Measuring 45"x29"x47", this red team painted trunk was an integral part of the Cardinals team history. While on the train, while separating this major league cargo from grandmother's personal belongings needed for her first trip out west, "St. Louis Cardinals" is proudly painted in gold leaf squarely on the front center of the trunk. Stored within it's steel frame, this travel container once held game used bats, helmets, and gloves of legendary players such as Mize, Medwick, Schoendienst, Musial, and Dean who relied on this trunk to protect and move the gear for which they needed to compete.
