David Gagner (Rangers) -- He was selected in the first round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft (12th overall) by the New York Rangers and bounced back and forth between New York and their American Hockey League farm team, the New Haven Nighthawks over the next several seasons. He remained with the Rangers' organization until 1987 but was never able to completely get over the hump and earn a full-time roster spot, largely due to his being considered too small for an NHL forward.

Nick Fotiu (Rangers & Whalers) -- A left winger, Fotiu began his career in the World Hockey Association with the New England Whalers in the 1974–75 season. Two years later, he signed with his hometown Rangers, where his role as an enforcer endeared him to Ranger fans. He was loved for his fighting style, which he picked up as a golden-gloves boxer, and that he was the first NYC-born Ranger. Fotiu played with the Rangers until 1979, when he was claimed by the Hartford Whalers in the 1979 NHL Expansion Draft. Fotiu's popularity as a Ranger was enhanced by his willingness to throw pucks up into the Madison Square Garden "blue seats" after pre-game warmups, where previously he sat as a young fan. The "blue seats" were the least expensive and farthest seats from the action, far beyond where pucks would normally land during game play.

Anders Hedberg (Rangers) -- Hedberg played a starring role as the Jets won the Avco World Trophy titles in 1976 and 1978. In the summer of 1978, Nilsson and Hedberg signed with the NHL's New York Rangers for $2.4 million, one of the first open acknowledgements that the quality of the WHA was on par with the NHL, making a merger with the WHA possible just one season later. Hedberg recorded 856 professional points in North American hockey over 751 games, and would retire from the Rangers in 1985.

Mark Osborne (Rangers) -- During the 1983 off-season he was traded to the New York Rangers in the trade that saw popular Ron Duguay leave the Big Apple. In New York, Osborne played three and a half seasons, reaching the semifinals with them in 1986 At the 1987 trade deadline he was shipped to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Lane Lambert (Rangers) -- is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey forward drafted 25th overall in the second round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. Lambert played 283 games in the National Hockey League for the Quebec Nordiques, New York Rangers, and Detroit Red Wings.

Willie Huber (Rangers) -- Huber was dealt to the New York Rangers in the summer of 1983. He picked up where he left off offensively, but tore ligaments in his left knee mid-way through the season and was limited to 23 points in just 42 games. The following season, he tore ligaments in his right knee. As a result, his once-excellent mobility declined considerably, as did his offensive production. By 1985–86, he scored only 15 points in 70 games. He bounced back to score 30 points in 1986–87, but was traded to the Vancouver Canucks early in 1987–88. After a short, disappointing stint in Vancouver, he was dealt to the Philadelphia Flyers at the trade deadline, where he experienced a surprise resurgence with 13 points in 10 games.

Several of the sticks have autographs of mostly Ranger players from the mid 1980s (09K0198)
