Van Williams (1934-2016) is the American actor best known for playing Britt Reid/Green Hornet on the ABC television show. With his side kick Kato played by Bruce Lee, the Green Hornet was a fan favorite of 1960s Super Hero fans.
On February 8th, 2016, Mr. Van Williams completed his very last private signing which was arranged and overviewed by MEARS president Troy R. Kinunen. After the completion of the signing, his wife Vicki confirmed these were the last autographs Mr. Williams would ever sign.
Offered is the quintessential Van Williams Green Hornet portrait photo. Measuring 16x20, this high quality black and white photo was professional remastered to add a colorized “Green Hornet” mask. The contrast of the icon green mask against the traditional black and white photo makes for a visual masterpiece. This technique was new the Van Williams line and these are the only images ever signed in this format. Each autograph was executed by Van Williams in near mint blue sharpie marker and remains in near mint condition. The photo has been authenticated by the professional staff of JSA and their hologram and card accompany this lot.
