Offered is a professional model C28 H&B Louisville Slugger dating to circa 1985 which features dual stamped Pete Rose & Ty Cobb signatures on the barrel. One two of these extremely rare bat were ever produced. During 1985, Rose ordered two Cobb model bat to be custom made and stamped with both the names of Ty Cobb and his own. Rose is a true student of the game and wanted to honor Cobb during his pursuit of the record. Both facsimile signatures were added to the bat. Bat currently measures 34", weighs 31 ounces and shows moderate use with ball marks, stitch marks & a section of handle tape. Bat was a special issue by H&B for Rose's pursuit of Cobb's All Time Hit Record, with Pete noting as much in his inscription to the original owner, noted collector Barry Halper, which reads "To My Pal Barry Only Two In The World. You Got One." Rose has also signed & inscribed ("1985") the front of the barrel with a Beckett LOA to verify the autogrpah. Of the two bats made, one entered the hobby in mint condition bearing no use. This was the superior example and gifted to Halper personally from Rose. Bat shows game used which can be attributed to use by Rose during the pursuit of the record. The exact circumstances of the use are unknown. PSA/DNA hologram/LOA 1B16151 will also attend. MEARS A10.
