Bob Gibson is arguably the best pitcher that ruled the mound during the decade of the 1960s. While playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, Bob Gibson won 164 games during the decade, and another 20 in 1970. While stacking up the victories, Gibson led the Cardinals to a 1967 World Championship where he won 3 games. In addition, Gibson was an eight time all star, 9 time gold glove winner, 1967 & 1969 Cy Young award winning, and 1967 NL MVP.

Prime examples of game worn Bob Gibson shirts are approaching the $50,000+ range. This lot will allow one collector to own a piece of Gibson / Cardinals history that was worn during the amazing streak of dominance Gibson. Available images (digital image included in this lot description) show Gibson preferred to wear these under sleeves while on the mound.

Supplied by the Tim McAuliffe company, this shirt has three button down front with full length red sleeves. Gibson’s “45” appears on the reverse in period, faded worn ink. Unique opportunity to either complete an existing uniform or provide an alternate game worn items for your collection. MEARS LOA
