Offered is a Milwaukee Braves home jersey dating to second sacker Danny O'Connell's 1955 season with the team. Wilson size 42 & laundry instruction tags sewn to tail with an embroidered "O'Connell 55" felt strip while a Braves tomahawk logo is sewn across the chest along with number 4 sewn to the front & back. While the Braves applique appears to be original to the jersey the number has been restored with the outline of a previously applied number also visible indicating that the jersey likely saw extended organizational use following O'Connell's 1955 season with the team. Period appropriate large Indian head patch sewn to left sleeve while the right sleeve features a Screaming Brave patch which would not debut until circa 1957. Heavy wear shown with areas of staining/discoloration, a few small fabric holes and a replaced zipper. (01C0208)
