1934-1945 KiKi Cuyler Chicago Cubs Reds Dodgers H&B Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat (MEARS A7.5)
Offered is a professional model Kiki Cuyler game used H&B Louisville Slugger dating to circa 1934-45 during which time the 1968 Hall of Fame inductee played for the Chicago Cubs (1934-35), Cincinnati Reds (1936-1937), Brooklyn Dodgers (1938). Cuyler continued to coach with the Cubs in the mid 1940s, and this bat may have been used during that time.
H&B records of Cuyler show he ordered 36” bats from 1934-1938 weighing 34-36 ounces. This bat falls within the correct length and weight range for Cuyler for the era. Bat currently measures 36", weighs 33 ounces and shows heavy use with ball marks, 20+ cleat like marks, and deadwood on the reverse of the barrel which has been repaired with four period nails. Handle remains uncracked. Five point for matching player record, three point for use with a 1/2 point deduction for the deadwood resulting in a final grade of MEARS A7.5. (95W0218)
