Offered is a Ty Cobb professional model H&B Louisville Slugger decal bat from his time with the Detroit Tigers in the first half of the 1910's. This pre-model number stick features a 1910-16 era J.F. Hillerich & Son Co. center brand while remnants of the original decal remain on the barrel.
This ash bat currently weighs 42 ounces, measures 33.5" in length and is consistent with known Cobb specifications with an early flare knob and round barrel. It exhibits signs of heavy use with ball marks, deeply embedded stitch marks, cleat marks and 12" of black handle tape.
MEARS grades this bat as authentic.
